Maya Rudolph is an actress and comedienne best known for her parts on Saturday Night Live. She lost her mom( “Lovin’ You” songstress Minnie Riperton) to cancer at the age of 7 and was raised by her producer father Richard Rudolph. She and partner Paul Anderson live in New York with their young daughter Pearl Bailey.
She’s done impressions of Oprah, Gayle King, Condoleeza Rice, Lorne Michaels, Paris Hilton, Halle Berry, Lisa Ling, Lucy Liu, Jennifer Lopez and many more. A personal favorite is her spot on Donatella Versace impression.
She seems to have gotten her mom’s pipes as she’s done excellent impressions of Beyonce Knowles, Macy Gray, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Liza Minelli, Tina Turner, Patti LaBelle, Melinda Doolittle, Christina Aguilera and Barbara Streisand.
Her most notable film roles are in Prairie Home Companion with Meryl Streep and Lindsay Lohan, Idiocracy with Luke Wilson and as the voice of Rapunzel in Shrek the Third.
