Model? Actress? No and no, though she could have fooled me.
Faye Wattleton was the first black person as well as the youngest person to serve as President of Planned Parenthood. It is a huge achievement for anyone, let alone a 35 year old black woman in 1978 America. She is currently President of the Center for the Advancement of Women. She earned a Bachelor’s in Nursing from Ohio State as well as a Master’s in Maternal and Child Health with midwife certification from Columbia University. Her contributions to family planning, reproductive health and advocacy for reproductive rights are long lasting and she was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
Brilliant, passionate and of course beautiful.
