Lorna Simpson is a Brooklyn-based photographer and artist. To be completely honest, I first found out who she was when I saw the beautiful Gap ad with daughter Zora Casebere. The second picture is with partner and fellow artist-photographer James Casebere.

I saw the Gap ad in a magazine and couldn’t get it out of my head. It’s such a beautiful mother-daughter picture. The Gap definitely stepped it up this past fall. The Amy Poehler-Will Arnett (they’re married) one was so cute and Zoe Saldana with her two sisters was just so sweet, it made me wish I had sisters of my own.
